1.    Could all parents please ensure that the children are at school at 9.20 am so that everyone is ready to start the school day at 9.30. This term there are many rehersals and it is imperative that children attend every Saturday.

2.    Could all parents please check if their child(children) has a tautas terps.  If you require a tautas terps please speak to Vizma Skabe-Boag (it is possible to have some shirts/blouses sewn).  All Children will require a tautas terps for the school function on 6 November.

3.    School Calender.

It was decided at the parents/teachers meeting that the school will produce a calendar to sell as a fundraiser.  If you have any photographs of Latvia (nature, buildings, etc) Please forward to Vizma Skābe-Boag (e-mail: vaboag@activ8.net.au) by 30th October 2010.

4.    School function .

The annual school function will be on 6th November 2010 at 10.30.  All parents and children need to arrive as usual by  9:30. The children will have a rehersal and the parents will need to help set up the hall with tables.  This year part of the function will occur in the large hall and food tables will be set up in the small hall.

-          Could all parents bring 2 plates of food (one savory and one sweet) with food that both children and parents like.

-          Please also bring a donation for the lottery – suitable for children and/or adults

5.    18 November

 18.nov.rememberance function will occur on Saturday 20th November.  The official flag raising ceremony which the schools children will participate in will occur at 12 noon – all parents are invited to attend. The official function will occur at 2pm in the large hall. The kafenica will be serving lunch between the flag raising ceremony and the official 18.nov function.

6.    End of school year

The end of school year function will held on 11th December in the Talava small hall.  Only children graduating (year 7) have to wear tautas terps.  Please bring a plate of food to share.

7.    Eglite.

The Eglite will held on Sunday 12 December at the Fullarton Communicty Centre park at 5pm

1)      Presents from Father Christmas:  school children $15 (this includes a book in Latvian), non school children $10

2)      Please dress in Christmas colours (red, green, white) and bring along elf hats and other christmas decorations

3)      Please bring along a picnic

4)      Children will need to be able to recite a christmas poem to Father Christmas J
